Harpur Palate was established in 2000 by graduate students in Binghamton University’s English Department. Since then, we’ve grown to nearly 200 pages, added a visual art portfolio, begun distributing nationwide, and published some of the most respected names in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction including Lee K. Abbott, Marvin Bell, Lydia Davis, B.H. Fairchild, Sascha Feinstein, Jack Ridl, and Ruth Stone.
Harpur Palate publishes writing with staying power: poems that stick in your mind, stories you’ll want to experience again and again. From the thousands of submissions we receive each year, we accept only the finest, regardless of genre, those filled with style and surprise, that pay attention to craft, language, and the story well told. Whether our authors are well established or emerging, we know their work will excite, intrigue, and move our readers, and that you’ll see their names—and ours—again in the literary world.
